Ok so I don't know how I did it but my foot has been hurting me for about a week now. Not horrible but it had been sore. Then yesterday I go for a walk for about a mile and now I can't put any pressure on the ball of my foot just below my big toe and when I do the pain is excruciating. Any ideas? For something like this do you try to find a pediatrist (sp?) or go to your regular doctor first? I am so confused :(

It could be a type of cyst.
My mom-in-law had a similiar thing happen and she thought that she had just bruised that area of her foot, but then after she couldnt put pressure on it, she went in and found that it was a cyst that is treatable with cortizone shots (which are painful)
I also had something like this happen to my hand.
just a thought :)

So I just made an appointment for tomorrow with a pediatrist(sp?) so we will soon know what the hell is wrong with me. Well with my foot at least ;)

Hahah the foot didn't really hurt that bad before the walk. A little sore but nothing i couldn't deal with.. and I am on a mission to lose 60 pounds by November 15th! How am I supposed to do that now ?!? ! *cries*

When I was a kid, i had this pain in my foot I just couldn't figure out. It hurt every time I walked on it. I thought it was just a bruise or something like that and the pain eventually went away over time. Well one day I slipped and actually broke my foot. When I went into the Dr and got an x-ray they found that I had a small fracture that existed before I ever broke my foot.
So I guess I'm saying... maybe a small fracture like I had? Good luck with the dr!

It could also just be a bruised bone. That can happen from falls, wearing certain kinds of shoes, sleeping funny on your foot, then adding exercise on top of that and it can all compound at once and be freaking painful.
It could also be an old injury like Nick was saying that get overstressed and came back up again.
Yeah check with the dr and make sure you take care of that please. I am still working on mine from 6 weeks ago.

SOooo apparently I have really high arches and small ankles. I also have two bones where there should only be one right where my big toe connects to the joint just before the ball of my foot. Nothing I can really do other then get some custom inserts for my shoes.. Hahah Gave me some naproxin and some shoe pad things to help even out my foot and I am supposed to not do the things that make it flame up.. Ya know like walking and driving lol. If it still hurts in a couple weeks then I have to go back for the custom inserts. He wanted to give me one of those plastic rocker shoe things but I told him I would just deal with the pain. Ha

I should totally steal that mindstate. "Baby, I don't believe in flowers. Or any sort of gift, for that matter. I also don't believe in remembering important dates, like anniversaries or your birthday. Don't persecute me because of my beliefs!"
Score :)

I've got enough game that I don't NEED to buy flowers. By "got enough game" I mean "brainwashed her well enough." :D Psh, she hears "I love you" more in one day than most women year from their husbands in a year.

Weird. I've got a similar thing going on, but mine is from an injury.
I was camping at antelope island about 3-4 weeks ago and left the tent to get somthing out've the car. It was dark so I accidentally bashed my right Big toe into one've those parking baracades at full jogging speed. I figured i'd just stubbed my toe but the pain was way too bad.
The kinda pain you described (Ball of the foot, right below the big toe) is just what i'm feeling. I've broken bones before and this pain definately feels like it's in the bone.
When I woke up in the tent the next morning my toe was pretty swollen & I had to limp around for a couple days.
About 5 days later it felt pretty much better, then I went on a hike and had to turn around because it started hurting badly again.
I almost think I may have fractured somthin below my toe. I've stayed off it for a long time now, wrapped it up alot & it's Finally startin to feel better.
Sorry, this post probably isn't of any help but I felt compelled to reply since what you are describing is so similar to my injury.
I'd say go get it checked out though.
Best of luck!
