Jon’s reputation in the underground scene spread fast and he quickly became one of California’s most prominent DJs. California, in the early 90’s, was looked upon as the leader in the techno/house scene and Jon was booked by many promoters throughout the U.S., Canada and Mexico to bring the sound of Southern California to the rest of the United States and abroad.

In 1991, Jon launched the first late night house and techno radio show called Sounds of the Underground on FM 92.5 in San Diego. This show was instrumental in bringing Jon’s name and the new techno and house sound to San Diego.

1992 saw the creation of the now infamous Club Hedonism at Rich’s in San Diego with Jon as one of the co-founders. The club night ran over 10 years until October 2002 and established itself as the longest running night in the U.S.A. The night was voted "One Of The Top Nights in the U.S." as written in Details Magazine and Playboy Magazine. Club Hedonism boasted about 1,000 patrons every Thursday who came to hear the cutting edge house and techno that Jon pioneered into his high energy hardhouse sound he is now identified with. The club highlighted some of the worlds best dj’s such as the Tidy Boys, Lisa Lashes, Ann Savage, Tall Paul, John Digweed, Carl Cox, Rachel Auburn and Kimball Collins to name a few.

In 1999 Jon has been given a residency at one of England’s premier club nights, Sundissential, located in Birmingham and Leeds. Sundissential is known as one of the leading hardhouse venues in the U.K. Jon now visits on a regular basis dj-ing at the biggest club nights in England such as the Tidy Weekender and Tidy London, Dance Academy, Storm, Sundissential, Frantic and the 2002 Gatecrasher Summer Sound System Event. It is the BEST VENUE we have right now, and it rocks the Casbah.
But it is NOT a good venue for a classic camping party.

The whole point of this party is the camping.... the long drive to get to the party.... (You may say you hate those long drives, but you KNOW you had a GREAT fucking time with your friends getting all antsy to get to the party) going down the dirt road, getting to the check points and then finally setting up camp and going out to the stage and seeing everyone you know and just partying it up.

That is what I was looking forward to about Sand Tunes
That is the reason I am not paying $27+$5 for Sand Tunes this year.

If I had already bought my ticket, I would still go. Unfortunately I never did get a ticket, so I'm not going for that reason, and also that it isn't a camping event. I was stoked to go camping, get away from the city for a night and jam out to bad ass music. That's what I was expecting, not just a night out.

We had around 700 something people there, it was smaller than last years and I believe this was due to the no camping aspect. I could go into great detail on why our original location cancelled on us, but there is no need to, we have to keep it professional. When this happened to our land/property, our last resort was Salt Air being a legal legit venue that was secured to go late. I know many of you if not all of you had a great time at the party and thats all we hoped for. Until the next show, keep it UNDA Ground.
