9 ways to get healthier, & start getting rid of the winter blues.

Tea off in the morning
Hot tea (http://www.menshealth.com/cda/article.do?site=MensHealth&channel=health&category=other.diseases.ailments&conitem=c06a99edbbbd201099edbbbd2010cfe7 93cd____&cm_mmc=MSN-_-MSN%20Slideshow%2010%20Second%20Health%2 0Tips%20-_-Article-_-Health%20Benefits%20on%20Tea) can slash your risk of kidney cancer by 15 percent, according to a review in the International Journal of Cancer. Try pu-erh tea, which is better than green or black tea at preventing DNA damage.

Sleep smarter
Too much sleep (http://www.menshealth.com/cda/article.do?site=MensHealth&channel=health&category=other.diseases.ailments&conitem=a7a35fc109dbe010VgnVCM2000001228 1eac____&cm_mmc=MSN-_-MSN%20Slideshow%2010%20Second%20Health%2 0Tips%20-_-Article-_-Good%20Night%20and%20Good%20Luck), or not enough of it, can kill you. A British study found that getting more than 9 hours of sack time a night, or less than 6, doubles your risk of an early death from any cause. Aim for 7 to 8 hours a night.

Pop in your lenses post shower
Soaping up while wearing your contacts can expose your eyes to infection-causing waterborne microbes (http://www.menshealth.com/cda/article.do?site=MensHealth&channel=health&category=other.diseases.ailments&conitem=356c886dc9d1b010VgnVCM200000cee7 93cd____&cm_mmc=MSN-_-MSN%20Slideshow%2010%20Second%20Health%2 0Tips%20-_-Article-_-7%20Everday%20Biohazards), say University of Illinois at Chicago researchers.

Drink wine, stay lean
Polyphenols, the compounds found in red wine (http://www.menshealth.com/cda/article.do?site=MensHealth&channel=guy.wisdom&category=howto.guides&conitem=9ea21eb42f4f4110VgnVCM2000001228 1eac____&cm_mmc=MSN-_-MSN%20Slideshow%2010%20Second%20Health%2 0Tips%20-_-Article-_-Health%20Benefits%20of%20Wine), help your body block fat absorption, an Israeli study found. Red-wine marinades work, too.

Lose the lint
Taking 2 seconds to empty the lint trap in your clothes dryer can help reduce many allergies, & prevent you from being one of the 315 dryer-fire victims each year in the United States.

Sit back & relax
Parking your torso at a 90-degree angle strains your spine (http://www.menshealth.com/cda/article.do?site=MensHealth&channel=health&category=doctors.hospitals&conitem=4c63da53ab043010VgnVCM100000cfe7 93cd____&cm_mmc=MSN-_-MSN%20Slideshow%2010%20Second%20Health%2 0Tips%20-_-Article-_-Banish%20Back%20Pain%20Forever), say Scottish & Canadian researchers. Instead, give your chair the La-Z-Boy treatment & recline the seat back slightly. The ideal angle is 45 degrees off vertical.

Boost your defenses
An Archives of Internal Medicine review reports that 400 IU of vitamin D a day reduces your risk of an early death (http://www.menshealth.com/cda/article.do?site=MensHealth&channel=health&category=other.diseases.ailments&conitem=1030ce756ff75110VgnVCM2000001228 1eac____&cm_mmc=MSN-_-MSN%20Slideshow%2010%20Second%20Health%2 0Tips%20-_-Article-_-50%20ways%20to%20beat%20the%20reaper) by 7 percent.

Skip the spray
Using household spray cleaners just once a week increases your risk of an asthma attack by 76 percent, say Spanish researchers. Use wipes instead.

Steam your broccoli
Italian researchers recently discovered that steaming broccoli (http://www.menshealth.com/cda/article.do?site=MensHealth&channel=nutrition&category=food.for.fitness&conitem=14842ba02ab65110VgnVCM2000001228 1eac____&cm_mmc=MSN-_-MSN%20Slideshow%2010%20Second%20Health%2 0Tips%20-_-Article-_-Carnivores%20guide%20to%20vegatables)inc reases its concentration of glucosinolates (compounds found to fight cancer) by 30 percent. Boiling actually lowers the levels.

it's just such a pain in the ass going to the wine store or the liquor store

why can't we be like everyone else and just have it in the grocery store?!!?

If we put it in the grocery store, little kids will see it and instantly want to drink it!! Don't you know that alcohol has an attraction stronger than the gravitational pull of a black hole?! If you get anywhere near it, you WILL drink and you WILL become an alcoholic.

Because wine is liquor and is a sin!

Wait! wine is the holy blood of jesus Christ our lord and Saviour!

wait!

it causes man to do sin!

wait it is has been considered one of the most used substances in rituals in just about every major religion to come out of the heart of human religious society!

wait!

ergo

jesus was a sinner and a partier. rock on!
