"Although Flew still rejects Christianity, saying only that he now believes in an intelligence that explains both its own existence and that of the world."

Hmmmm, I wonder what that could be?

Deist, it's actually more reasonable and you don't get caught up in the dogmatic and contradicting bullshit every religion has.

i think that there was no "real" change in beliefs, on flew's part.. he is old and his mind is failing and, perhaps he is afraid of death. so he allowed himself to be coerced by christians who for years had been sending him letters about theism, attempting to persuade him to their side, so to speak.

his mind and body failing, and (imo) grew afraid of dying. he needed something to clear the fear from his mind.. something to cling to.. christianity is the obvious choice, as this is the main religious sect that was opposing his writings. and they were trying to convert him for years.. (there were no buddhist scholars actively corresponding with him, trying to persuade him. or any other religions for that matter.)

he is being used as a tool for propaganda, by men who perhaps don't even believe in god. but they made a proclamation years ago, and most likely just refuse to give up on that, for fear of looking foolish.

saying you have scientific proof of god is the most rediculous (sp?) thing anyone could say.. even if you have some sort of proof that has no errors, mathematically, logically, etc. understanding the end results is still open to interpretation by the viewer. the perception of the reality is ultimately going to be what "reality" is. not the so-called proof of god. as far as i can tell, whatever proof they have, only proves that the universe exists. and even then.. that can easily be refuted and questioned as being "real."

like i said.. it's a hoax.
