To all promoters:

I strongly encourage use of the Calendar feature, located at the top navigation bar of this site. The grid calendar is easy to use and post events, and is very easy to find. Posting a "date claim" thread in the events forum is easy to lose if other promoters are searching for available dates. I believe if the grid calendar is used properly, it can be a useful resource when other promoters are searching for available dates. All you need is the production company name and event title, then post an official info thread in the "Upcoming Events Information" itself.

** There are two calendars available. One is for Concert/Club Events, the other is for weekly bar nights and such. Please make sure you are posting in the appropriate calendar (there is a drop down selection menu in the bottom right corner of the calendar page) **

Hopefully this will prevent any "date stomping" issues in the future, provided that people are actually trying to look for "open" dates.

Having said that - Please post all of your known dates within the next couple of weeks so I can remove the "sticky" on the "promoter date claim" thread in the forum.

Thanks,

Jesse

I've already stated that in my original post, however, I don't find it necessary at this point in time. If I see enough of a demand for it, I'll add another one for weekly club night postings.

Oh. I didn't know you were a mod. How funny.

Anyway...

Going here... (http://utahraves.com/calendar.php) that's the Club Events/Concerts calendar... and at the bottom right on that drop down list.... is Bar Nights/Birthdays/Holidays calendar. They'll both show up on the bottom of the main page.

You don't have calendar privileges.... so I just went ahead and did it before I saw your 3rd post.

Excellent...I like that

When you added the second calendar it cleared all the data entered into the calendar already. Can you restore that or do they need to repost it?

It did? It shouldn't have..... I moved Tink's entries for S&S Lounge over to the Bar calendar....

All I did was rename the first one. I'll look.

It's showing up now. When I clicked the link in your last reply, there was nothing for the entire month of june. It is there now - so that's good times.

Also: I like that it defaults to concert/club events since that will be the primary function - thanks for your help

You can remove the sticky on it now, if you want.

However people like it, they can use it as a reference or if they don't like it they can ignore it, but it is a good way to see the year at a glance some people don't want to look through the calendar to see if a date is open. :)

I do say they use it to claim, but to see what is open my thread is useful for that.

Guys,

I just wanted to say PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE try to get me some 468x60 event banners. I'm completely dry of ad inventory across all my sites, and I need something new to promote. At this point, almost anything you give me is guaranteed to be seen 2,000 - 3,000 times per day until the event.

Remember, only events you want people you don't know showing up for. ;)
