I don't find it mean to find it funny?

He is LDS when we went over there for his B-day they were too? Isn't that why LDS roomies would move out? I couldn't imagine them being bad.

My friend lives in Utah county, and she's not on BYU proper (or what ever it's called) but the apt still has BYU rules...so she has to sneak beer into her apt. I think to myself...what a boring party. I feel bad for people that live down there and have to rent under those conditions, even tho they dont practice the way of the LDS.

But she lives there, and I love her....I think someday she should totally move here!!!

I agree...they couldn't have been bad.

Here is the low down, without going into the full story:

Tim and Derrick lived at a pad in sugarhouse with some others and our landlord decided to move in to our place instead of rent it.

Tim decided to buy a house and rent to his friends, Derrick, Nick, Skyler and Jeremy(some of whom used to live in the sugarhouse pad)

Derrick only lived there month and got married, which I knew he was. Nick is now going to BYU which I also knew, Jeremy is moving back home to Taylorsville with his parents to "save money and he thinks he'll get better grades at SLCC living at home"

Meanwhile Skyler's girlfriend Didi, moved in after being in California, now they are getting their own place.

Leaving Tim with none of his friends he originally bought the house to move in with and two random dudes he found from craigslist and the LDS institute, buts still a mortgage to pay.

There you have it, now come move in, NO DOGS, and though we are mormon, we are open minded and don't mind not LDS folk. Plus, thats hella cheap rent for your own room, and only $150 deposit.

Try living in Rexburg LOL way more strict. My Brother is dealing with that crap in Provo right now. He has to have drug tests or else he gets kicked out of BYU. He still drinks. I'd laugh if he got kicked out and only has 2 semesters till graduation.

So the $250 room is in the basement or is it smaller than the other one? And how about cats(2)? I am thinking about moving out of magna/my mommy's house.

it's super cheap rent, if you ask me!!!

I'd hope that you would know that someone was getting married. I dont agree with I knew her for 2 weeks and we got married...sure you may know man, this is the girl I want to marry...but you shouldn't actually do it...plan yourself a nice fun wedding...they are a good time!!!

I donno about the grades thing...hahahah. I hope that works out!!!

Good luck finding roomies.

KC, I completely agree with you. Specially in the current mortgage disaster we are in, right now. it's a crazy time. You want to have a good 2-3 months of mortgage payments in your savings acct at all times...that's my thoughts anyway

haha, seriously? Is that mandatory for all of them? Or is he on some sort of probation.

His roommate ratted him out for smoking weed, then he moved in with pothead/coke and herione addicts thinking it'd be better but instead they screwed him over cuz they had no jobs or money and everything went to drugs, he said they chose drugs over food. Then their neighbors ratted their apartment out, even though he wasn't using so then they are making him get 2 more drug tests. one in Sept. one in Dec.

Uhhhh...why in god's name would you EVER expect somebody on coke and heroin (especially heroin!!!) to NOT choose drugs over rent/food...shit, that's one of the main things they're known for, choosing their drugs over any and everything...even their life/health...moving in with heroin addicts = dumbest move he's probably made in his life...it's one thing to be trusting, it's another to be so naive that you should be considered legally retarded...

T.Beck

KC, here is how I see it:

I could have kept renting and thrown away at least $300+ a month, or I can buy a house, which I can afford it'd just be really really hard, and rent it to others, have them helping me pay my mortgage, retain ownership, do some repairs(like I just put a new roof on which I got the seller to pay for) and by next year it will be worth 20-40K more than now. Thus I am basically paying the same I'd be paying to rent, plus put some money into making it a nicer place, and in a year have a bunch of equity.

So far though it has been a serious PAIN IN THE ASS, I am dealing with zoning crap from the city, a broken water line, etc. etc. but I think in the longrun it will for sure be a worthwhile investment.

Porperty always goes up, the sooner you can get in the better, before there is anything afordable even left.

Getting roommates is not a necesity for me, it just helps.

And Blacksunshine I do have enough $ to pay my mortgage on my own for a few months. I know the "rules of saving and investing"

Blacksunshine
08-10-2007, 11:48 AM
they even choose drugs over faith.

It's crazy mayhem I tell ya

He didn't know when he moved in, he just thought they smoked weed. He doesn't live with them anymore, they got evicted due to breaking BYU honor code(they weren't BYU students other than my bro) ha one of them was from california and had gotten busted with a Pound of coke, he was under 18 then so he got off pretty easy I guess, and his parents sent him to Provo. Its funny there are a lot of mormon parents from other states that send their problem kids to Provo expecting them to change and not be able to get drugs.

(words...)

Getting roommates is not a necesity for me, it just helps. That's fine...my opinion wasn't directed at you, but at anybody who thinks they OWN a house when they CAN'T afford the mortgage w/o roomates...yea, roomates help, that's why you have them, but if they all leave and you can't pay your mortgage, that house was never yours, you were renting it from the bank and they'll take it back (I know you're technically renting from the bank in the first place)...

Its funny there are a lot of mormon parents from other states that send their problem kids to Provo expecting them to change and not be able to get drugs.Yea, my wife moved here to get away from meth...LMAO hahaha...great choice, eh? haha ...thankfully she DID get off it, but it's cuz she saw the light that is KC...the dark red light that is KC...hey, it's better than meth...haha

yea, I know this girl whose parents own like a BMW dealership or something, in California, she is like 22, they sent her to Utah to be a good little girl. She has never worked a day in her life, drives a $60,000 car, her parents pay all her bills, she goes to bars and gets drunk and I think sleeps around every night. All the while her parents think she is now a good little mormon girl in Utah. HA, read my new thread on this subject
