should have one thread with all the new show's in it.
That way, there isnt 500 new threads on events every other day.
That would also make it so much easier to find them & read about
the new shows coming up.
If it was in one thread that got *bump'd* all the time, i think everyone
would enjoi it alot more. :)

Actually its easier just to look at his threads and then find the one you want with all the info about the one show rather then try and sift thru one that has 3846703497509273509237 pages.....

Thats true.
But im thinking of something kinda like
my tickets thread.
Have all the shows coming up on the first page.
Then delete & add new shows when needed.

Thats what happens when you just go into the specific forum.....
Maybe I am missing what you are trying to say

I agree with Holla, one thread = less spam, then if people really want to go to his shows they'll know where to look.

On the old board (R.I.P.) the organizers had a single thread with just the show dates, names, and like a one-liner on info. This was mainly so we didn't step on each other's toes. It was all in one thread. It was a good thing. A calendar would be better. Any way to integrate a calendar into the upcoming events board?

Spam... are you kidding?
If you guys are complaining about this "spam" business... then we're all in trouble. 8-) It's not spam... the_kollective is posting one thread per event like it says... I don't see a problem. I saw a problem on the last board when he posted a solid page of new events... but s/he's not doing that.
I see no problem. :2cents:

That's odd...when I made this complaint on the old board, every person who replied was all about it, and the_kollective actually ended up putting the shows into one thread...it does depend upon how many threads are created at any one time, as it was rediculous on the old board (I think we counted 15 threads one time)...I simply bump threads to counter it...

And then they just go back to there old ways. They also should organize there threads better. They're so ugly and horrible to read through, everything's in caps and it's just not organized well. There e-mails are the exact same way and I e-mailed them telling them they should make some changes so it was easier to read through and they just ignored it.

I don't even see why the kollective is on a rave forum. They're a bunch of uneducated money hungry retards. I've played shows for them before in my old band and they're fucking stupid. They think they own the town. My vote goes for them shutting the fuck up. If I want to know about shows, I'll read City Weekly. I don't want to go to shows put on by a bunch of coke heads anyway.

Here is the Irony, The Kollective owns Salt Air(them, Suede, and some investment company from AZ) so all the complaints about Salt Air and security and such can be directed to the Kollective as well. I was going to work for them when I first moved to SLC. I went and sort of interviewed I guess, and they had me sell merch at this crappy goth band's show. Then they were maybe gonna put me in charge of their booking agency they were starting, but then they started not returning my calls and such, it was lame. I dont like the Post Fontaine either, they are the ones that do most the shows at In The Venue. I am thinking about starting to book shows again, and give those 2 some competition. Its kinda hard to break in thought when those 2 companies have a stronghold on the market here and with all the booking agencies. Plus its risky as hell, when you are doing a ton of shows like them its ok to lose money here and there, but with me I'd book one show and then if I lost out I'd be screwed and I wouldn't have the advertising dollars like they do.
An old friend of mine is still repairing his credit after doing shows and losing, He lost like $5,000 on a Finch show in Boise.

well this is all very interesting. I am just doing my job man. My job is to let every single fan of said band know about their favorite bands show or atleast a person who gives a fuck about said band, even if there is only one on here per show, what is one fan worth.
I am counting on a forum like this because I know that the Rave Scene doesn't just go to Raves RIGHT? Or am I wrong? I doubt anybody here is really that narrow minded except a few.
Whether you think so or not, I believe that booking 20 shows a month helps this scene as well (speaking of the Rave Scene) regardless of whether it be live music performed by bands or live D&B at the Saltair (represent!) as long as the entire mother fucking country knows that we are not all a bunch of inbred church goers and that we really do know how to have as much fun as an LA, Austin, NYC, or Portland I'll keep posting this shit until I die.
As far as posting in general goes, the reason I sometimes post multiple shows in a row (like somebody was saying it goes like you want it to go for a month or so and then BAM, back to our "old ways") is simply this...
me and one other guy run this company, and I do all of the marketing and promotion for us and quite honestly when I am promoting 20 shows a month I can get a little backed up, THUSLY it shits right on you, the said forum reader persons, and for this I apologize but sometimes I have to do it.
Look, I promise you if you were a DJ, A Rapper, A Band, or a guy doing an entire Rave at Saltair (represent!) you would want me promoting your show. You would want me posting info about your show everywhere there is a place to post the mother fucker, and at the end of the night when I paid you your money I would be able to look you dead in the eyes and say "I did my very best to get the word out to your fans about the show"
What more can an artist ask for, I ask you?
Jimmy The Tooth.
Peace out.

Jimmy, there are those of us on here that love rock as well......
Keep posting the events please. Ok so maybe just make one thread and bump them when you need or just edit the posts for the new event.
We will look at getting a calender set up for you.
The Rock section is staying.... Jimmy please keep rock shows in the metal section and I think we will have less bitching..
